How does the online learning actually work?
The online learning model covers 100% of the qualifications criteria. The Level 2 and Level 3 courses comprise of coursework, theory based examinations and a practical assessment. All coursework and theory examinations can be completed with the help of our superb online guidance and resources. For the practical assessment you will be expected to video record your session from start to finish and then upload for one of our qualified examiners to assess.
What is the online learning process?
Upon enrolling for online learning you will be given a password that grants you access to all of the online resources that will help you progress through every aspect of the course. In addition you will also be assigned a personal tutor who you can contact for extra help and guidance when required. Once you have completed the coursework and theory examinations you can then video record your practical assessment and send to one of our qualified examiners for assessment.
How do I complete coursework online?
The coursework units require completion of the LAP (Learner Achievement Portfolio). You will have access to this upon enrollment and can download and complete via your laptop/ phone/tablet. The LAP has a range of units with specific questions that need to be answered accordingly. Once completed you can upload your LAP for one of our assessors to mark for you.
How do I take my theory examinations online?
When you feel you’re ready to take your theory examinations you can simply click the link which will take you to our online assessments facility. Simply write in your full name and complete the multi choice questions. To pass you must score 70% and above but additional attempts can be taken if needed. Your score will be generated immediately so there is no waiting in anticipation.
Can I prepare for my practical assessment online?
Yes! We have an entire library of instructional exercise videos that will guide you through how to coach your clients with demonstrations and technical instructions. Our videos also contain common technical faults and ways in which to remedy these with your client. When you feel you’re ready, grab your volunteer client and record your final practical assessment, send the file to one of our qualified tutors to assess and await your result.
How long does the online learning take?
You are in control. You can complete the online learning option as slowly or quickly as you wish. As a much more independent learning model you decide how quickly you progress through our qualifications. So if you work full time and can only afford a few hours per week, no problem. However if you’re in a rush there is nothing stopping you from qualifying within weeks of enrollment.

- Level 3 Diploma* Practitioner in Personal Training (*L2 & L3 Certificates Combined)

What are the entry requirements?
For Level 2 there are no formal entry requirements, however some experience of gym-based exercises, including free weights, is highly recommended. The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential; therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary. There is also an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learner should have basic skills in communication pitched at Level 2. Entry Requirements for Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training is a Level 2 qualification in Gym Instructing. Entry Requirements for Level 4 Certificate in Strength and Conditioning are:
- Learners must hold a Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training (or equivalent), a Level 3 Coaching qualification (or equivalent) or a Level 3 Strength and conditioning qualification (or equivalent).
- Learners may also hold relevant higher education or further education qualifications that are equivalent or higher than those listed above (e.g. physiotherapy, sports therapy).
- There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at Level 3.
Where will my qualification lead me?
What if I am already qualified as a level 2 gym instructor?
If you are already qualified as a Level 2 Gym Instructor, you are not required to re-sit this part of the course. You can enrol straight onto the Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training.

We have a variety of state-of-the-art gyms across the UK that are used for our classes, lectures, seminars and assessment days.

What happens if I struggle with the theory aspect of the course?
What's the difference between the Level 3 Personal Training Certificate and the Level 3 Diploma Practitioner in Personal Training?
The Diploma Practitioner is both the Fitness Instructing Level 2 and Personal training Level 3 Certificate qualifications combined. If you already have the Level 2 you can enrol straight on to the Level 3 qualification.
